Olivia - The Super Mom!

Olivia is one of our Super Moms! She has produced consistent quality of conformation, movement, and has passed on her now famous "Olivia disposition". What is the "Olivia disposition"? Well, they are bold, curious, very people oriented, easy to train, and easy to ride or drive. They are sensitive to the aids, smart, like to have a job, forward thinking, and comfortable to ride. I guess that's why they have always sold en-utero or as weanlings! Hopefully one day Hammock Farm will be able to keep another Olivia foal! Luckily we did retain HF Ciela before the news got around! Enjoy the pictures of the Olivia foals below!

Guess Who? HF Ciela - 2004
HF Ciela
HF Ciela

This is Olivia's oldest foal and she has not let us down! Ciela was retained by Hammock Farm due to her looks, movement, disposition, and being unrelated to Puntero. She was easy to start under saddle and then took to Combined Driving with ease. She has the Olivia disposition and will tackle the scariest hazard with nonchalance. She is big and beautiful and will continue the "Olivia" line by having a foal of her own in 2011! See her "all grown up" on our Mare Page.

Guess Who? HF Oriana - 2006
HF Oriana
HF Oriana

This filly was bought as a weanling and now lives in AZ and is continuing the "Olivia" line for her owners. She is another beautiful Olivia / Puntero VI cross!

Guess Who? HF Orencio - 2007
HF Orencio
HF Orencio

This colt was bought as a weanling by Anita Worthington of California. Again having the great "Olivia disposition", Orencio traveled to CA with no problems. A few days after his nine day ordeal of getting to Anita's California farm he had to be evacuated in the middle of the night because of wildfires. He calmly got right onto the trailer and up front to stand under the noses of Anita's other two horses. He then lived on a soccer field for a few days until the wildfires moved on. Since proving his mettle in the first few days of owning him, Anita has since taken Orencio (by ponying) through canyons, over streams, and swimming in the ocean. Orencio had a abscessed tooth this year that was long in healing and so he hasn't yet been able to carry a bit. I know that Anita can't wait to continue his training and actually ride Orencio all those places he was ponied! See the grown up Orencio on our "Sold" page.

Guess Who? HF Oliana - 2008
HF Oliana
HF Oliana

Now a two and a half year old, this Olivia daughter (by Puntero VI) is owned by our own Joanna Compton-Mys. After working at Hammock Farm for a year, Joanna decided that she definitely wanted this particular cross. So, Joanna reserved a foal en-utero while awaiting the birth of her own son. Both foal and son were born in the same month. Joanna has been busy over the last two years! Oliana is a striking filly with the famous Olivia disposition. We will credit Puntero with adding all that beautiful silver mane and tail! Joanna is just starting Oliana's under saddle training and when getting on her back for the first time, Oliana seemed to say, "It's about time!" See the almost grown up version of Oliana on the "Mare page".

Guess Who? Willow - 2009
HF Willow
HF Willow

This filly was designed and owned by Judi Carter. Judi wanted a filly out of her two favorite horses, Wilson (Champion Welsh Stallion, Champion Driving Pony) and Olivia (Judi's favorite riding horse). Willow should mature into a large pony perfect for riding or driving. She looks to have the beauty of both her parents with the exceptional athleticism of her father and the famous ease of training of her dam.
